Associate Director, Talent Search

  • M.S - Youth Development, Iowa State University

  • B.A. - Psychology, Indiana University

I have over 20 years of experience working with children and families in social service and educational settings. I have been a TRiO Talent Search Advisor since 2006. Previous endeavors include working as a Family Resource Specialist for a local foster care agency; serving as an assistant coach for high school girls’ basketball; and I have even operated my own childcare business. I have a passion for working with youth and families, educating them on what it takes to complete middle and high school, and how to prepare for and successfully enroll in a post-secondary institution. I also enjoy educating students about life skills in an effort to assist in making them better individuals for society as a whole.  I have a great deal of experience diplomatically advocating for youth and families in the community, schools, and colleges.  I enjoy volunteering to work with/for community organizations whose focus is to enrich the lives of young people.
