Class of 2016 prepares to celebrate College Signing Day

South Bend, IN (April 26, 2016) – On April 26th, high schools and partner institutions around the nation will celebrate thousands of students as they decide where the next chapter of their lives will begin. This day is known as College Signing Day, a nationwide event that recognizes and celebrates high school students for making a commitment to higher education. Inspired by the NCAA’s National Signing Day for athletic scholarships, College Signing Day provides non-athlete students with the opportunity to be celebrated for the successful completion of high school and the intent to enroll at a post-secondary institution. Created as part of the First Lady’s Reach Higher initiative, this movement is a way for all of us to encourage those heading to college.

As a capstone of the ND TRiO Programs experience, the University of Notre Dame TRiO Programs will host the 2nd Annual College Signing Day Celebration on Thursday, May 5th to acknowledge senior class scholars of Upward Bound and Talent Search as they take the next big step towards their future. The event will take place at the Guglielmino Athletics Complex at the University of Notre Dame at 5:00 p.m.

This is a closed event. For additional information or media inquiries, please contact Nijinsky Dix at 574.631.6835 or ndix@nd.edu.
