As we all know, the transition from middle school to high school can be quite the transition. Fortunately, under the advisement of TS advisor Michael Boyd, selected students from Dickinson Intermediate Center received an excursion to Chicago. After a year of improved behavior, grades, and attendance, I think it is important to provide a source of positive reinforcement. This trip will also provide students with how certain steps can lead to your dreams,” said Boyd. During the excursion, students had the opportunity to speak with local high school students, visit the University of Chicago where they received a personalized message from the James Nondroff, VP for Enrollment and Student Advancement & Dean of College Admissions and Financial Aid, and a museum presentation at the Renaissance Society. Students ended the tour with lunch at Chicago’s world-renowned Giordano’s Pizza and a historical tour at the DuSable Museum.
