For the past 36 years, ND Talent Search has provided the South Bend community with access to post-secondary education. Today, the pursuit of access, equity, and excellence continues… ND Talent Search has been refunded for another five years!
The University of Notre Dame’s Talent Search program was one of nearly 900 eligible colleges and organizations to receive a portion of $135 million in grant funding to provide and promote college preparation resources for local students.
ND Talent Search will receive $430,875 annually for a total grant award of $2.15 million over the next five years – the largest in ND Talent Search history!
Currently, ND Talent Search serves approximately 900 intermediate and high school students providing academic tutoring/advisement, career exploration, cultural enrichment, community service, and college tours. . Since its inception, ND Talent Search has served over 24,000 students. “This will allow a great program to continue to be great, says James Desits, Talent Search advisor (of nearly 35 years). TRiO Director, Ethan Zagore echoes his sentiments, “Programs like Talent Search are necessary for the community. It motivates, inspires, and supports the dreams of future educators, lawyers, doctors, and other change agents. Our students need this. Our community needs this.”
