Notre Dame, IN – On May 5th, high schools and partner institutions around the nation celebrated thousands of students as they decided where the next chapter of their lives will begin. This day is known as National College Signing Day, a Reach Higher Initiative spearheaded by former First Lady, Michelle Obama to recognize high school seniors for their postsecondary plans while simultaneously encouraging younger students to form their own educational aspirations. Inspired by the NCAA’s National Signing Day for athletic scholarships, College Signing Day gives high schools and academic partners the opportunity to publicly celebrate the successful completion of high school and the inauguration of their postsecondary journey.
As a capstone of the four-year expedition also known as high school, the University of Notre Dame TRiO Programs will host its 3rd Annual Decision Day Celebration to acknowledge scholars of Upward Bound and Talent Search that have decided to pursue education beyond high school. The 3rd Annual ND TRiO Programs Decision Day Celebration will take place on Wednesday, May 10th at the Eck Visitor Center at the University of Notre Dame from 6-7:30 p.m. Surrounded by their peers, school administrators, and community representatives, students will receive a certificate of recognition and a spirit tee to represent their future academic institution.
