Back for its 3rd Annual Decision Day, ND TRiO celebrated seniors as they finalized their senior year. Representing all of the SBCSC high schools, ND TRiO Scholars announced where they will spend the next four years. “This is a moment to rejoice and be proud. Each student has put in a lot of hard work to get to this point and they should absolutely be celebrated,” said Matt Adams, ND TRiO Advisor. For most seniors, college represents independence, the end of 7:30 a.m. courses, and a step closer to their dreams. However, attending college represents a bit more for students of TRiO. “I can’t believe I’m going to college. I will be the first in my family to have a degree. Me. I’m doing this,” stated Tyniquia Taylor, a UB Scholar. Similar to National Signing Day for athletes, scholars were welcomed into the doorway of higher education with a t-shirt representing their respective institution in the presence of college graduates, community partners, family, friends, and ND TRiO alumni.
Congratulations to the Class of 2017!
