Taking place at Purdue University West Lafayette, the Annual Indiana TRiO Student Leadership Conference was designed to help students discover, prepare, and propel into leadership. Under the theme, “Defining Your Purpose, Striving for Excellence, TRiO scholars from around the state learned leadership principles to strengthen campus groups and organizations, and explored how to use their leadership skills to make a greater impact on their campus community and beyond.
Through a wide selection of topical keynote presentations, participants mastered how to incorporate leadership skills into their co-curricular activities as well as, the decision-making processes throughout the pre-college experience. “This was powerful. Hearing the students exchange ideas and become engage in the process is powerful. This is what leadership looks like,” said ND Staff Assistant, Maurice Scott.
The conference offered two plenary sessions, workshops, a keynote speaker, and a campus tour.
