Celebrating its fourth year, ND TRiO Programs hosted its annual Decision Day Celebration, highlighting the collegiate aspirations of Upward Bound and Talent Search Scholars. Taking place at Club Naimoli at the University of Notre Dame, ND TRiO senior participants proclaimed their college “decision” in the presence of community members, University officials, family members, and most importantly, their successors. While state schools maintained their competitive stride, there was an increase in HBCUs (historically black college and universities) as well as out of state institutions. “Even though Indiana is the home of really amazing colleges and universities, TRiO has exposed me to institutions around the nation. That’s why I chose Franklin and Marshall,” said Makaila Ranges. Students traveling outside of the Hoosier state echoed her sentiments.
