After years of enduring growing pains (for both staff and participants), the ND TRiO experience came to a bittersweet end. After sharing memories and bouts of laughter over cuisine at LaSalle Grill, the staff of ND TRiO celebrated the academic and co-curricular accomplishments of seniors as the group reminisced about their years in ND TRiO. “I’ve witnessed some really amazing moments with this group. This is a really talented group,” said James Desits, TS advisor. After receiving the certificate of completion (the ND TRiO diploma), participants were gifted graduation cords to commemorate the “TRiO finale.” Special recognition was also given to ND TRiO valedictorians and salutatorians as well as recipients of the Reverend Theodore Hesburgh, C.S.C. Award of Excellence.
Created in 2015, the Reverend Theodore Hesburgh, C.S.C Award of Excellence honors a graduating senior(s) that has not only exhibited academic inquisitiveness, but has exemplified the spirit of TRiO through civic engagement, servant leadership, and a steadfast commitment to excellence.
