During the summer, Upward Bound students live on the Notre Dame campus and receive academic instruction for up to seven weeks—earning high school credit for Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Economics and U.S. Government. In addition, students receive instruction in lab science and language arts to prepare them for future success at both the secondary and postsecondary levels.
Upward Bound is a year-round program. In order to become eligible for the Summer Academy, students must apply for admission into Upward Bound the fall of their freshman year of high school. See our application page for more information.
